| Web Technical Administrator/Developer Position |
St. Anthony Messenger Press is a respected leader in Catholic publishing and electronic outreach via its award-winning family of database-driven Web sites, email newsletters, blogs, and podcasts, based at http://www.americancatholic.org. Already one of the nation’s leading Catholic Web enterprises, this Franciscan ministry is growing.
We currently have an opening for a Web Technical Administrator/Developer. This person will join the Internet team in, primarily, administering and, secondarily, developing our various Web sites and related Internet efforts, working closely with another developer, in addition to editorial and design staff. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and managing host servers, updating online catalog, creating and achieving log files, collecting statistical Web traffic data, and continually maintain and update Web applications and online blogs. Also works to update and improve present computer operations, develop new systems and work with other departments in joint-systems ventures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent job related experience.
- Two years of Active Server Pages / ASP.NET (VB.NET) programming experience for Internet applications.
- Strong experience with HTML/JavaScript authoring, website design and content development preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Active Server Pages / ASP.NET, VBScript, object oriented programming.
- Skilled in Microsoft SQL Server administration, including database creation.
- Able to create and implement detailed test plans
- Outstanding organizational skills, including self-motivation and the ability to follow a long-term plan.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including strong documentation skills.
- Previous proven experience working effectively with employees and customers.
- Ability to effectively make decisions regarding maximum performance of systems.
- Design skills preferred but not required.
