A comment to your question, I was looking for a bible study group to learn more and joined a "non-denominational" group and stayed for the full 7 years. I wouldn’t trade it because it gave me a good basic background to the bible but as time went on I found that the Catholic viewpoint was never touched upon or discussed. Therefore, I did not feel comfortable but perservered because I wanted to know more. I’m glad I did it but am now involved in a bible study group from my parish and I feel at home. I’ve learned alot but I’m thankful our parish offers a bible study - this will be our second year. We will study Luke. Please feel free to contact me about our bible study.
