How does praying the rosary draw you closer to God and others?

I am 12 years old and know alot less than i would like to about my relgion! I go to bible study every sunday night for an hour and a half, and do nothing but learn about my catholic region our beliefs and thoughts. Having group dissucsion like this is wounderful! How well do you think kids my age are eduacated enough on their catholic realgion? How do think this could be improved?
