To love someone or like in response to your question Joe i feel the answer is
1 when you really love someone no matter what they do to you, (hopefully not bad) you will forgive them and you will want to be with them everyday and you will have a deep feeling in your heart about them.
To like someone
1 is when you care about them but you do not have that feeling there.
