I still love my ex-husband. Not in a romantic way at all. I still care that he is okay. I still care that he has found some happiness in his new life. And I know he feels the same about me. We have been friendly in a long distance kind of way for over ten years. I even had him and his new family here for Christmas a year and a half ago because I knew how deeply he needed to be with all of us. The love continues......but in a transformed way. He doesn’t like my structured life style and I still don’t like some of the things he does, but we still respect each other as parents to our sons and as "family", however dysfunctional it may be.
