You make a fine point in saying: It is our job to judge what actions are morally wrong and right so that we may ourselves engage in right action. This is in accordance with James and others, not the least our Lord. Bringing the attention of the sinner (aren’t we all sinners?) to the particular action that is judged to be wrong in the Light of Wisdom is a way of bringing healing - acting as an instrument of our Lord - to the rift between the offender and God. After all, are we not all called to be peace makers in the sense that we strive to participate in the healing of that rift between God and man?
