When my mother died she took nothing with her. At that time her financial portfolio was meaningless. I realized at her wake that she was the richest person I knew. People came out of the woodwork to tell us of her kindness, compassion, and general goodness to all she encountered. I found out delightful secrets about her care for others! None of this had to do with money or financial gain. It had to do with the goodness of her heart. She taught all of us a good lesson.
