Have you ever had to make amends for a wrongdoing?

Subject: Amends

As a recovering alcoholic of 14 years, I’ve had to make many amends to those I’ve harmed. Amends freed me from the bondage of myself and allow me to experience peace and love on a deeper level, because I have been the recipient of acceptance from others and their forgiveness. I’ve also learned to forgive and accept myself, and others. Making amends is more than saying "I’m sorry". While we cannot change the past, amends means to change the behavior. It is truly a gift in my life.
