I hurt my cousin very badly by not inviting her to a party. The reasons are tangled, but I felt I could not, even though I knew I should have. She didn’t talk to me for two years. But during those two years I kept trying and trying to make amends. From cards, e-mails, telephone calls, gifts, words of regret until finally she welcomed me back to her. Slowly but surely our relationship is healing. This week she offered to sit by my side while I recover from surgery. For this I give thanks to God. If I had to do it over, I would have untangled the reasons, which now seem foolish, to invite her to that party. How foolish we can be sometimes and how easily we can hurt people for such silly reasons. A life lesson learned! Sqwid
