Remember that their marrying outside the church does not automatically doom their marriage, its just not as good a start as wed like to see. Remember too that God is in control always ... and He gives us free will to make our choices. It is NOT your fault that things have turned out this way.
Please continue to consult with God and may the Holy Spirit guide your actions. Love finds a way. Most certainly communicate your pains to your daughter and son-in-law, but do so lovingly ... not to condemn but merely to communicate how you are pained by the events. Not to change them, and not to expect change, but to allow for the possibility of amends. And most of all, keep the communication lines open and emphasize that you will ALWAYS be there for support no matter what ... which is what God offers us. In God, hope is always alive.
And of course, pray. Saint Monica was most persistent in her prayers for the conversion of her son, whom we now know as Saint Augustine. God seeks to save us all, without violating our free will.
May the peace of Christ be with you. |
