Does the military action the U.S. is contemplating against Iraq meet the standards of a just war?

Besides, whether you can "support" war depends on how to define "support". St. Augustine and St. Thomas talked about just war, but generally they did not "support" war. They only saw war the last thing to do when all alternatives fail.
The good apologist I refer to are those in keeping with the Great Doctor of Faith. Personally, I have also read the books of St. Augustine, St. Thomas and St. Alphonseus. St. Augustine is still my favorite saint. I believe our pope and those theologists in Vatican also read them. But I really cannot see their sound reasoning can be specifically applied to THIS war. |
