Clergy Sex Abuse and the Catholic Church

How can the Catholic Church in the U.S. heal from the sex-abuse crisis?

As a child growing up in St. Eugene’s Church, I witnessed the abuse, thankfully I was not. I knew all the children who were abused.

This is fact. One of the Bishops, who was aware of what was going, was sent to the Vatican and remains there. A priest involved in the abuse was sent to an orphange in Mexico (this is true-I was shocked). This same priest i assisted many times for 7 a.m. mass. I was never abused. (thanks be to God)

Abuse, abuse...
I would never defend the actions of the priests. They are/were wrong in their judgement. They should be punished accordingly.

Now, have we forgotten that priests are included in the term "man". The ignorance of the general public and the Vatician in this obvious fact is disturbing.
-Man sins
Two words-yet Catholinc Priests are held to a different level of commitment, ethics and behavior. Does trans-substantiation have anything to do with this? Does the obvious sacrifice that priests make hold them to a differant level of expectation? Should priests be married (current interpretation of the bible suggests not)?

Briefly, please note, that the splintered Church of England has also experienced events referenced above as well. The media targets Catholic Priests.

Priests are men. Wuld marrriage affect the outcoime of this diturbing event?

A Ph.D. candidate at Trinty College in Dublin, Ireland, recently noted in a dissertation defence:" Catholic priests have the sexual development of a 12 year old boy". THINK ABOUT THAT...

I will leave you with that, I trust you all are well,

Good day, NPD
