How can the Catholic Church in the U.S. heal from the sex-abuse crisis?

As a lifetime Catholic, survivor of CSA as well as violent stranger assault, my anger is a challenge everyday, as I struggle with the statistics & my personal relationship with God, as a female and a mother. There are sex perverts, crime & denial in every occupation & profession as I see it; that’s the sad and sometimes violent conflict of life & humanity. Although my sex abuse happened outside the church, I’ve felt offended by many sermons, attitudes and slights of clergy personally, as well as edified and inspired by some actions & attitudes of clergy also. We are all as individual as grains of sand, and accountability is so important.
Although my personal experience may be different from the majority, I still find prayer and meditation to be my most valuable resources.
