How can the Catholic Church in the U.S. heal from the sex-abuse crisis?

Subject: Clergy sex abuse

Clergy sex abuse is the sin of our culture and time. But for the hierarchy to deny it or cover it up is the greater sin. Now the Church must admit its sin, make reparation and restitution to those abused. The laity should have a greater role in setting criteria and selecting persons for ordination. Optional celibacy should be allowed within the church. But the general population should be promoting chastity and flagging t.v. programs, movies, internet carriers that abuse sexuality and do not respect the person. Maybe then our society will be the better for it.
