Clergy Sex Abuse and the Catholic Church

How can the Catholic Church in the U.S. heal from the sex-abuse crisis?

It upsets me that our Church is not standing as a witness to the others---especially those who call Catholics idolators and non-Christians. It is unfortunate that good priests are being tainted by this scandal, as is the Church as a whole.

Frankly, I believe any priest, bishop, or cardinal who is causing this should love his Church enough to resign. The Church is bigger than any one man.

And as for celibacy--I don’t think married priests would prevent child abuse. But dropping celebacy might open the Church to a wider group of individuals for the priesthood. Afterall, Peter was married!
