I just read Bishop O’Malley’s text from the recent Bishiops conference in DC. Today we hear of more allegations and scandel in Boston & Cleveland. When will the Church leadership stand up to its responsiblity, when will the Bishops call for accountability amongst their own! the Church will be ever tainted, unless those that have abetted the offenders and permiited it to continue begin to act as Jesus would call them to. Stop trying to shelter the Church. Its seems the bishops are trying to manage a corporation’s PR campaign eg Enron. The leadership needs the laity as partners in the governance of its affairs. They have failed the "Faithful". Confess and accept the consequences. Otherwise the faithful will continue to distrust the leadership.
My faith in the Gospels has not been deminished, but my image of the clergy has been seriously distorted.
