Two for the Money

Uninvolving drama about a former star college quarterback (Matthew McConaughey) with a Midas touch for picking winners seduced into the high-stakes arena of sports gambling by a con-man oddsmaker (a hammy Al Pacino) who runs a top betting operation and grooms him as his protege, until he hits a cold streak. No likable characters and a lame script make director D.J. Caruso's testosterone-juiced morality play a bad bet. A sexual encounter with suggested shadowy nudity, a wince-inducing sports injury, gambling themes, a crass scene of urination and much rough and crude language and profanity. The USCCB Office for Film & Broadcasting classification is L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. The Motion Picture Association of America rating is R -- restricted.
