Crazy Love
By
Source: Catholic News Service
Perversely engrossing documentary charts how a married, ambulance-chasing lawyer fixated on a 20 year-old Bronx receptionist, wooed her, then had someone blind and disfigure her with lye in 1959 when she became engaged to another, only to marry her after serving 14 years in prison for the crime. Director Dan Klores conducts extensive on-camera interviews with the still-married couple as viewers are left to evaluate if this is just a bizarre story of obsession and co-dependency or one of enduring love and forgiveness. Intermittent violent, suicidal and sexual references, an instance of rough language. The USCCB Office for Film & Broadcasting classification is A-III -- adults. (PG-13) 2007
