Obtuse drama in which a heavyweight boxing champion (Ving Rhames) is convicted of rape and an old-time gangster (Peter Falk) arranges a prison match between the champ and the penitentiary's reigning title-holder (Wesley Snipes). Director Walter Hill feebly attempts to inject gravitas into the ridiculous and tedious film with cardboard characters and a wafer-thin, dragged-out plot that broadcasts its narrative turns from miles away. Menacing scenes of fisticuffs and boxing, fleeting rear nudity and non-stop rough language. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops classification is A-III -- adults. The Motion Picture Association of America rating is R -- restricted.
