Likable drama in which a down-on-his-luck director (Al Pacino) secretly creates a computer-generated actress to star in his film and she becomes an instant success, but when the creation becomes more famous than the creator, it threatens to ruin his life. Spiked with some witty dialogue, director Andrew Niccol's film amusingly mocks bratty, egotistical Hollywood actors, but the satire is spoiled by outlandish circumstances and too tidy an ending. Brief sexual suggestiveness and fleeting crass language. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops classification is A-III -- adults. The Motion Picture Association of America rating is PG-13 -- parents are strongly cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.
