Unfaithful
By
Source: Catholic News Service
Unsettling romantic thriller in which a woman (Diane Lane), happily married to a loving husband (Richard Gere), recklessly enters into an obsessive affair with a stranger (Olivier Martinez). The arrogant belief that betrayal is possible without consequences is painfully disproved in director Adrian Lyne's moody cautionary tale, which leaves fear and hopelessness in the wake of an impetuous, selfish act. Several sexual encounters with nudity, brief violence and some profanity with minimal rough language. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops classification is A-IV -- adults, with reservations. The Motion Picture Association of America rating is R -- restricted.
