Slap Her…She's French
By
Source: Catholic News Service
One-dimensional comedy about a Texas teen (Jane McGregor) who gets deposed from her seat as the most popular girl in high school when a French foreign exchange student (Piper Perabo) hosted by her family steals her fame. Poorly written, director Melanie Mayron's film is showered with double entendres, cliches and stereotypes as it mocks self-absorption, but the shallow lesson on the short shelf-life of popularity is negligible. Some sexual suggestiveness, brief drug content and underage drinking, sporadic crass language with fleeting profanity and an instance of rough language. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops classification is A-III -- adults. The Motion Picture Association of America rating is PG-13 -- parents are strongly cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.
