Take Time for Advent
With an extra week between Thanksgiving and the beginning of Advent, the Christmas shopping season is in full swing. But we still can take time out for the prayerful season of waiting for the celebration of the Incarnation. Here are some places to start.

The Season of Advent
Our yearly Advent seasonal feature includes a daily calendar of reflections drawn from Rediscover Advent by Matthew Kelly, interesting articles from St. Anthony Messenger and Catholic Update, and links to Catholic Greetings for Advent, Christmas, and the December saints. And our popular "Catholic Treasures" videos with Fr. Greg Friedman, OFM, will inform and inspire your Advent journey.
In Stillness, We Wait
The December issue of St. Anthony Messenger magazine calls to mind the stillness of Advent and the mystery of the Incarnation—and what that means for our everyday lives. Franciscan Father John Quigley writes about St. Francis and the Incarnation; James Behrens looks at how the Trappist monks in Conyers, Georgia, celebrate the birth of Christ; and author Lori Erickson takes us on a journey to Israel, where she profiles the wood carvers of Bethlehem.
Advent Radio Retreat
Once again this year Franciscan Media is featuring its popular radio retreats with a variety of U.S. Catholic bishops, both English- and Spanish-speaking, to deepen your experience throughout the entire Christmas season. Click here to hear the retreats in English, and click here to listen to the Spanish messages. Available in streaming audio, the retreats also can be downloaded for Windows Media players and as mp3 files.
Christmas at Liberty+Vine
With the new month comes the newest issue of Liberty+Vine. Our staff explores Christmas customs, prepares for the end of the world as we know it, and reminisces about our favorite Christmas TV shows. We also review new music, movies, and books, including J.K. Rowling's novel A Casual Vacancy. Want a new perspective on the winter holidays? Subscribe now to this cutting-edge, digital-only magazine!

Everyone here at Franciscan Media wishes you and your family a blessed and merry Christmas!
