We’re about to endure an onslaught of publicity about the new Sony film, The Da Vinci Code, a fanciful mystery story that many people are accepting as the Gospel truth about Catholicism. The film is slated for release in the next several weeks. There are two very good resources I can recommend for your Web site. One is www.jesusdecoded.com, a site created by the U.S. bishops to offer some authentic Catholic teaching on the issues the film raises. Another is our own “The Truth About Jesus” feature, which has a number or articles on what Catholics believe about Jesus and St. Mary Magdalene.

A reminder: Easter isn’t over yet! The Easter season continues until Pentecost, June 4. As Pentecost draws nearer, after Mother’s Day, we will change the content and the link button on our Easter to Pentecost feature. If you are using the Easter link button already, it will change to an “Easter to Pentecost” button June 5. The articles in the Pentecost feature have to do with our understanding of Pentecost and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Finally, May 14 is Mother’s Day, a favorite time for people to send a Catholic Greeting (shows Mom that they’re still interested in things Catholic!). You can add a link to our Mother’s Day Catholic Greetings, e-cards that ground our celebration of motherhood in our Catholic faith.

Happy Easter!

Parish Site of the Month

St. Joseph Church (Diocese of Crookston)
Here is the Internet home of St. Joseph Church and School in Red Lake Falls and Brooks, Minnesota. An attractive site with a clean layout, it has all the basics—church bulletins and calendars, links for spiritual growth, a brochure on faith formation and school newsletters. In addition, there is a forum for school alumni, a cemetery database and a church “tour guide” in .pdf format.

Pray-as-you-go.org
This trial site was initially set up to be online only through Lent. Providing downloadable prayers, exercises and reflections, Pray-as-you-go received more attention and positive feedback than its creators expected. It will remain up and running with daily inspiration for visitors throughout the entire Easter season. Check out today's prayer (or download a .zip file with prayers for the whole week) as well as breathing and body exercises, and post your feedback through the online questionnaire.
