New Link to Pope Feature at AmericanCatholic.org

(If you don’t have time to read this now, please take note of the buttons on the right. They are free for the taking, for you to use on your Web site. Click on a button to pick up the html code.)

Hospitalized February 1, Pope John Paul II is recovering from influenza and breathing problems and is expected to remain in the hospital for up to a week. Catholic webmasters may wish to keep their parish Web sites updated with appropriate content and links to the latest news concerning the pope. To keep site visitors informed, provide a link to a special news feature on the pope’s hospitalization at AmericanCatholic.org on your site’s home page. Visit daily for updated articles and photos from Catholic News Service on the pope’s condition, and learn about prayers for his health and recovery. This feature provides a link for your visitors to submit prayer requests for the pope (see below).

This is a good time to send your site visitors to our Pope John Paul II feature, where they will learn about his 26 years of service as the leader of the Roman Catholic Church. In addition to biographical information, it provides articles on the pope’s teachings on topics such as the Eucharist, the Rosary and stem-cell research, and on his historic travels to Ireland, Central America, Cuba and the Holy Land. We'll keep this feature updated with any developments in the pope’s condition.

Finally, honor the pope with free e-cards from CatholicGreetings.org. Encourage your site visitors to send e-cards to family and friends during this time by providing a link to the page of John Paul II e-cards. Also, send visitors to StAnthony.org, where they can submit prayers for the pope that will be displayed on the Web site and on a scrolling screen at the National Shrine of St. Anthony of Padua.
