Feast of the Body and Blood of the Lord
As the Church celebrates the feast of the Body and Blood of the Lord,
sometimes known by the Latin name Corpus Christi (the Body of Christ) we celebrate
the gift of the Eucharist. The gift of Christ’s very self was given to us to nourish
us, forgive us, heal us and to continue to fashion us, the Church, as the Body of Christ
living in the world. Each week on American Catholic Radio, we try to work with the
Spirit in building up the Church through our choice of guests who bring you information
and inspiration about Catholic life and faith. Our current lineup includes…
On “Living Faith”:
Television producer John Morales left FOX News to "do something meaningful" with
his life. He recently produced a TV documentary called Champions of Faith, which
tells the story of professional athletes and their Catholic faith.
Augie and Dawn Leal started Shine Catholic Work Camp in Texas, which hosts weeklong
service retreats for incoming high school freshmen through college students, here in
the U.S. and soon internationally.
On “Exploring our Faith”:
Sister Peggy McDonald, professor of theology at Immaculata University in Pennsylvania,
shares her insights into the prayer Jesus taught us, the Our Father.
Filmmaker Gerry Straub made a documentary called When Did I See You Hungry? The
film, narrated by actor Martin Sheen, features 250 of Straub’s own black-and-white
photos shot in India, Brazil, Kenya, Jamaica, the Philippines, Mexico, Canada and cities
in our own country.
Catholic Radio is a powerful tool to cooperate with the Holy Spirit
in building up the Body of Christ. American Catholic Radio is your partner in that
work!
