Let Us Walk With You on Your Lenten Journey!

Welcome to Lent! Each week during this season, our ACR shows will center on the theme of “conversion.” We’ve got a great line-up of guests to inspire you in the ongoing faith journey that helps us turn from sin and accept the Good News of Jesus Christ.
  • Throughout Lent, Judy Zarick will have a special guest telling a personal story of conversion. These real-life experiences will help you in your ongoing walk of faith.
  • In "Exploring Our Faith,” Producer John Feister will interview an expert in Lenten spirituality and the liturgical rituals of the season.
  • To begin each program, I'll present an overview of the Lenten Scripture reading from Sunday Mass with Scripture scholar Fr. Daniel J. Harrington, S.J., from Boston College. He was on the program during Advent and Christmas, and once again he'll share his insights with us.

Father Dan has a handy little book entitled Daily Reflections for Lent 2010, which you can purchase online from www.AmericanCatholic.org, where we’ve also gathered other Lenten features, such as selections from our Catholic Update Video series.

Let ACR be a companion on your Lenten pilgrimage!

Producer Judy Zarick continues her "Conversion Series" with an interview with Father Darrell Kelly. His journey began by being a part of a very devoted Baptist family in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. His first encounter with the Catholic faith was when he began fourth grade at St. Gabriel Catholic School.

Ask a Franciscan
Father Dan Kroger answer listeners' questions in this episode.

Marriage Moment
Throughout 2010, the Catholic Church in the United States is making marriage a priority. Last November, the U.S. Bishops approved their pastoral letter, Marriage: Love and Life in the Divine Plan, to “communicate from the riches of our Catholic faith the meaning and value of marriage and to offer support and practical assistance for it to flourish both in society and in the Church.” ACR offers a weekly “Marriage Moment,” where a husband and wife answer a question about the challenge of living their special sacrament. Jim and Susan Vogt respond to "How do spouses get past 'the importance of being right'?"

Exploring Our Faith
Author, religious educator and retreat leader, Alice Camille has worked in parishes and campus ministry, supervised a shelter program for homeless women, and been active in ecumenical settings. She also contributes regularly to a number of Catholic magazines and homily services. For the Lenten season, she wrote a Catholic Update entitled “Lessons of the Heart: Lent, Day by Day.” She speaks with Producer John Feister in the second of two interviews about Lent.
Highlights from this episode include:
