1. No Warranties. Franciscan Media, owner and operator of American Catholic Blog disclaims any warranties, express or implied, in relation to this website. Franciscan Media does not represent or warrant that the site is or error-free. You also should be aware that, while Franciscan Media will use reasonable efforts to ensure confidentiality, it may be possible for third parties to acquire or discern information about you through computer hacking or otherwise.

2. Indemnification. You agree to indemnify Franciscan Media for any loss, cost, claim or damage it may incur as a result of your breach of these Terms of Use or any use by you of the site, or due to your connection to or inability to access the site.

3. Ownership of Information. Franciscan Media shall own all information on the site, including without limitation information submitted to the site by you. Franciscan Media may in its sole discretion edit or elect not to post messages sent by you. Franciscan Media may use messages sent by you for any purpose within the bounds of the Terms of Use. You hereby represent that at the time you submit any message or other content to Franciscan Media, you have the right to submit such message or other content without violation of any rights of privacy or publicity, copyrights, or other third party rights of any nature.

4. Linked Sites. Franciscan Media disclaims liability for any sites to which it provides links on the website and is not responsible for the content of such sites.

5. Compliance with Laws. You agree to comply with all applicable laws and rules. If accessing the site, downloading the content, or other use of the site is illegal in your jurisdiction, such activity is prohibited by these Terms of Use. You are hereby forbidden to take any such illegal actions, and Franciscan Media disclaims any liability therefor.

6. Limitation of Liability. Franciscan Media shall have no liability for any loss, cost or damage of any sort, including without limitation consequential damages, even if notified by you of the possibility of such damages, arising out of your use of this site or the transmission of any messages to or from the site. Franciscan Media reserves the right to cease operation of this site without notice and for any reason, and is not responsible for any damages arising therefrom or from any technical failure, non-transmission of messages or inability to access this site.

7. Forbidden Transmissions. You agree not to transmit through e-mail or otherwise any viruses or computer code, files, or programs that would harm the computer software, computer hardware, or telecommunications equipment of Franciscan Media or that of other visitors to the site.

8. Confidentiality. This site involves discussions on highly personal topics. Although Franciscan Media seeks only e-mail addresses, the site may be the recipient of additional personal information, either volunteered by you, or discernable through other information revealed by you. You represent that you have read and reviewed Section 1 above. You are responsible for limiting your disclosure of personally identifiable information. Franciscan Media cannot be responsible for any breaches of confidentiality or privacy that may occur if you share your computer, email address or password with any third parties.

9. General. This website is governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. These Terms of Use represent the entire agreement between Franciscan Media and you. Waiver of any right by Franciscan Media at any time does not constitute a waiver of any other rights. Franciscan Media and you agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts situated in Hamilton County, Ohio, should a dispute arise. Should any provision in these Terms of Use be found unenforceable, that provision shall be reformed so as to most nearly effectuate the intent thereof, and the remaining Terms of Use shall be enforceable to the maximum extent allowed by law. Any claim or legal action against Franciscan Media must be brought by you within one year after the website visit, message transmission or posting from which your claim arises.

10. Copyright Disputes. If you believe that any material on this site infringes copyrights, click here to take action.

Privacy Policy

Franciscan Media will use reasonable efforts to exclude personally identifiable information it receives through e-mails from discussions it posts on the site; however, users are advised to avoid inclusion of any such information in messages which they submit for posting. If information is to be posted on the site, it should be considered publicly accessible.

Franciscan Media will not disclose to third parties information it receives that is not posted on the site unless:

1) required by law,

2) the user consents (although the user's consent does not require Franciscan Media to reveal the information),

3) the disclosure is necessary in Franciscan Media' sole discretion to protect the health or safety of the user or other persons, or

4) Franciscan Media reasonably suspects illegal activity.

PLEASE NOTE that under Ohio law, Franciscan Media is required to report to applicable county authorities any suspected abuse of children, and of elderly, disabled or dependent persons.



Francesco Antonio Fasani: Born in Lucera (southeast Italy), Francesco entered the Conventual Franciscans in 1695. After his ordination 10 years later, he taught philosophy to younger friars, served as guardian of his friary and later became provincial. When his term of office ended, Francesco became master of novices and finally pastor in his hometown. 
<p>In his various ministries, he was loving, devout and penitential. He was a sought-after confessor and preacher. One witness at the canonical hearings regarding Francesco’s holiness testified, "In his preaching he spoke in a familiar way, filled as he was with the love of God and neighbor; fired by the Spirit, he made use of the words and deed of Holy Scripture, stirring his listeners and moving them to do penance." Francesco showed himself a loyal friend of the poor, never hesitating to seek from benefactors what was needed. </p><p>At his death in Lucera, children ran through the streets and cried out, "The saint is dead!
