A Word From the Editor Dear Web Visitor, You're viewing one of the best of Catholic Web sites! That's according to the judges of the 2001 journalism competition sponsored by the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada. AmericanCatholic.org was awarded First Place in that competition on May 25, 2001, at the association's national convention in Dallas, Texas. 
The judges commented, "This site has first-rate organization from the home page through the sub menus on subsequent sections. Programmed menus on the the home page offer the latest technology in easy-to-use navigation. Full features include search, product ordering online, news and articles as well as streaming audio-video. Graphics are small and download quickly." Receiving First Place from this association of all of the major Catholic newspapers, magazines and publishers in the United States and Canada is an honor indeed. We are proud to say we do it for you, the people who come to visit us on the Web. You'll be pleased to know that many of the articles, columns and editorials that appeared on this site during the past year were honored individually, as well. All told, St. Anthony Messenger Press received 36 awards in this year's competition.
